The first semester of school is over. The second one is going to be a lot more work. I am looking forward to it though. The classes interest me, the tuition is free through work so I don’t have that nagging feeling that I’m wasting my money, and I’m getting to the point where I can see the light at the end of the tunnel: graduation. It won’t be until next spring (of ’09) but I know how time flies when I keep myself occupied.

I have also begun talks with a mortgage broker and a real estate agent. I plan to buy a small, semi-dilapidated 2 to 4 unit apartment building that I can fix up, live in and rent out. It looks like the finances for that will be ready in late spring. Hopefully I’ll have a place by the summer.

Prices are so low for rental properties that I will be able to afford a second one about six months after I have purchased my first building. One or two more after that and I will be standing on good ground to quit my job in one and a half to three years from now. Then I will be able to recline into my part-time job of property/investment management and pursue my real passions with the bulk of my hours.

In the meantime though I am going to be making other people tired when they so much as look at me. – Full-time work, full-time student and novice real estate mogul to boot.
