Cessation

I smoke from time to time. Some might call me a casual smoker. I prefer the term ‘seasonal smoker’. Mostly on nice summer afternoons on front porches is when I get the urge to have a puff. Oh and how glorious it is. Lately, because of all the guys at work smoking, and visiting my friend, Paul, who smokes so much, I realized I was getting use to doing it at least a couple times a day.

I pride myself on not being addicted. In fact, I use my casual smoking habit as an example for others to show that one can use tobacco responsibly without putting one’s health into any serious risk but still enjoying the sweet smoke.

So in order to ensure I don’t go from being a 2 stick a day smoker to a 2 pack a day smoker I decided to cease it completely for the month of October, just to see if I could do it. Well, it’s now November, I didn’t touch a lick of tobacco all last month and you know what? It was easy.

Dodged another bullet I suppose. Now I can feel free to mock ‘addicts’ as just weak willed as I show off to them how I can suck down half a pack and then go two weeks without even thinking about tobacco.
